06 December 2011.
We had two (other) lecturers on this day – Mai and Nic. Both were to teach/refresh us about grammar. We played a game, Taboo, before we started the lecture. Or was it after? Ugh, whatever.
It was the first time I’ve heard of Taboo, but I liked it right away. One of the word that my groupmates had to guess while I gave the clues was kick. I didn’t know how it happened, meaning how I got the word. Had there been any conspiracy, I don’t know with Nic.
It would’ve been very easy for me, if only I was with a Kaholero or any Football fan. I was saying the following words: corner ___, penalty ___, free ___. I even said that David Beckham is known for his corner ___. Then I remembered that no one in our class was, and still is, not into Football.
When our group almost ran out of time, I suddenly remembered the basic. I said, “It’s what strikers do with the ball!” Thank goodness they guessed it. I should’ve said it before using the different kicks as clues.
Before the formal lecture, we were told to fill out the appropriate ‘labels’ on particular pages in our workbook. It was more of an assessment activity. Basically, it was to assess our temperaments though they used different names: Analytic for Melancholic, Driver for Choleric, Amiable for Phlegmatic, and Expressive for Sanguine.
They didn’t really mention Choleric, Melancholic, Phlegmatic, and Sanguine, but the activity was obviously about these. Of course, I got Analytic as my first communication style. Driver and Amiable were my second communication style. Both got the same result, but I wrote that I am Analytic and Driver-Amiable. I’ve definitely become more choleric lately.
Nic was the one explaining the communication styles, though I and my friends usually call them as temperaments. For each comm-style, there was a picture from famous movie characters. When he flashed the slide for Analytic Person, I literally backed off. He used Anthony Hopkins as Dr. Hannibal Lecter as the example. Why and how I got scared? Click here.
I think we also had a call simulation on this day, with Una. She was one of those who joined the panel for my last interview. And boy, she did remember that I am into Football. She even mentioned “Madridista.” How nice of her.
