07 December 2011.
What did we do on this day?
According to my Twitter timeline, we did the “2 Truths and A Lie” on this day. What I told the class were the following:
1. Phil Younghusband is my favourite Football player.
2. I flew to Bacolod just to watch a Football game. It was an overnight stay.
3. I can play Rugby. If you know Arnold Aninion, he was one of my coaches along with other Volcanoes.
Most of them thought that #3 was the lie. One also thought that it was #2. Of course, to those who know me, the lie was number 1. I told the class that “Phil Younghusband is definitely not my favourite Football player.”
When I was done with this activity, Camille asked me, “What’s with the trembling?” My knees felt weak, though I’m not sure why. Perhaps it was because of the cold. It affected how I spoke, bringing me back to how I naturally speak. Paaak.
While speaking to the class, I definitely heard myself speaking in British accent yet I couldn’t modulate or neutralize it because I felt cold. I’ve always thought pronouncing “r” was my only concern, because I am a non-rhotic speaker. Turned out, I was wrong. And Camille testified to that when she told me that I had British expressions. Haha!
