Monday Night After Work Agenda

Posted: 2 August 2011

Rugby Night
I left the hospital on training outfit. Of course, I did’t wear cleats. I don’t have a pair to begin with.

When I arrived in PhilSports Complex, they’ve obviously been training already. I joined the girls, which felt like a very long time since I’ve done so. Oh. The girls I’m referring to were the national athletes. As for the boys, I’ve only spoken to one male player, Jon Morales. It was actually just a “Hi!”

I’ve also spoken to the utility guy, Kuya Ren. He’s the one I had the most conversation. I was told that they played Touch. Of course, Coach Matt was there. It’s his warm up for the trainees. Boy, I missed it.

So without the Touch, I just joined with some of the drills. We had something like Boxing. I was paired with Soleil (I’m not sure if I spelled it right). I should work on it properly next time. I’m liking it.

They made us run while dragging a tire and run back while holding the tire above our head. It was crazy, but I didn’t dislike it. It was part of the training. Besides, Coach Matt said, “Tires are good for the abs and thighs.”

After the Boxing and Running with Tires, we had a Tackle drill. I was paired with Cassie. She told me important things when enganging in tackles. She had mentioned it before, but it’s good to have a reminder. I hope I don’t get one next time, because that means I’m doing things right. Besides, it’s for my own good and health.

The training didn’t last until 8 in the evening because of rain interruption. We wouldn’t have mind but the pitch was unplayable. Still, it was tempting to play in the rain. I used to do that when I was little. It was like mandatory for us to play in the rain when downpour kicks off.

We finished early, which was good because I also finished shower early. But it actually felt longer than my usual showers. The Kaholeros were ought to have a meeting in NSG and I had to make it on time.

The Core of Kaholeros
So we had our meeting in NSG about where the Kaholeros should be heading, what we should be doing, and how we should do those things. The creation of committees was also part of the training. I don’t think I can write here everything what we have discussed. And I am not supposed to discuss them here. Nunca.

When I came to Ayala, I got off across Allied Bank. Then I remembered it when we were leaving NSG. I asked Kuya Jaron if it’s still available. He said yes, and it was affirmative. It didn’t even feel like a long walk from Greenbelt compared to walking all the way to EDSA.
