Back in Rugby training

Posted: 19 July 2011

I was back in Rugby training yesterday. Boy, I miss it. It’s been a while.

We had the regular drills, though the boys were made to carry some tires to strengthen their stamina. There were new girls last night. It’s good to know that I’m not the only boy who is non-Rugby player in the developmental training.

I saw the regular faces. The girls were complete, also with someone I’ve trained with before. I can’t remember her name. My bad.

Speaking of names, I could hardly remember the names of the other trainees in the group. Someone from the national development team talked to me. I remember his face, but I can’t remember his. What made it more awful was that he still remembers my name. I am so sorry.

Our next training will be on Wednesday but I won’t be able to attend because I have a seminar – A Life Worth Living – to attend.

As it was the first time I trained again, after two months, I’ve realized that my ‘first times’ come with a welcome. A “welcome” from a Rugby ball. I got hit on my face. Good trainee, passing the ball without looking. There are a lot of trainees who do this in an obvious manner. I’ve done this before, but they just didn’t notice that I did look before passing but not in a very obvious way.

Back to rugby’s welcome back thing. My fault was waiting for a ball from someone, who failed to catch it, without knowing and realizing that there’s one coming to my direction.

Nonetheless, I’m glad to be back. I hope I already have cleats next Monday. I must buy one soon.
